LISA BUCKINGHAM

Certifications: CVKC, Certified VIP Kettlebell Coach and CPR Certified.  Bachelor’s degree in Health/ Physical Education and a Master’s of Guidance & Counseling.

Background:  Married, mother of two boys; lifelong fitness enthusiast; active throughout high school and college; started running and competing in races during college; once kids came along started coaching soccer and baseball until they reached high school; got involved in snowshoeing and triathlon/duathlon as a change from running; continue to find new and fun things to do!

Experience:
Kettlebell instructor; traditional weight lifting; Step Aerobic instructor over 20 years; I have competed in 5 and/or 10k running, rollerblading, & snowshoe, triathlon/duathalons, & mountain bike races.   I also competed in the Zoo-de-Mac 50 mile bike race.   Motivation:  Several things continue to motivate me – being active keeps me fit and feeling good; having boys, they have said they appreciate the fact that I am coordinated; as a teacher at the high school level, many students have more respect for you if you can do what you are asking them to do; also, I know how hard it is to work out by myself and working out with a partner or other people is more fun and keeps me accountable and in shape!

Goals for 2009/2010:  Complete “Girls Best Friend” Triathlon; compete in an adventure race with my family; stay healthy and injury free; and truly to just “enjoy the ride”!

Favorite quotes:  “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight; it’s the size of the fight in the dog!” – Author unknown.    “What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?” – Author unknown.

Cheryl Kondziolka

Certifications/Degrees: CVKC-Certified VIP Kettlebell Coach, CPR Trained, Associates Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting.

Background: All my life I have been active in various recreational sports and activities such as volleyball, softball, body toning, spinning, kickboxing, step aerobics, skiing, walking and running.  Participating in these types of activities has helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle. After starting a family, time became more precious and I needed some form of exercise that would benefit me in as little time as possible.  That is why I started working out with kettlebells. It is a good 30 minute workout and as a mom, that is a bonus. I started working out with kettlebells in February, 2008. Kettlebell training has given me strength and stamina that I have not experienced before.  In March, 2009, I competed in my first kettlebell competition at the Arnold Classic. I completed my personal goal and had fun training for it. This past year, I completed two 5K runs and was thrilled with my results. I truly believe kettlebell training improves your ability in all sports.

Experience: Kettlebell Instructor, Kettlebell Competitor, participant.

Motivation: On a daily basis, I realize how strong I have become and that feeling keeps me motivated to keep pushing myself above my limits and that always amazes me.  As an instructor, I love motivating people to discover their potential and exceed their expectations.

Philosophy: Always smile and have fun in life whether it be at home, work or exercising.  You should always surround yourself with positive people.

Goals for 2010: Compete in kettlebell competitions and run in a 10K.

Favorite Quotes:  "It’s not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing.”
